MapleStory Europe says "Cheers!" to Oktoberfest
MapleStory Europe hosts its second virtual celebration of the world-famous German cultural event
MapleStory Europe, the hugely successful, free to play MMORPG from the world-leading publisher of online games, NEXON Group, brings another virtual festival as part of its continuing series of fun and exclusive promotions based on popular European cultural events. Following a packed summer event schedule rounded up with rampaging giant tomatoes from the recent Spanish "La Tomatina?Event, MapleStory Europe players can look forward to an Oktoberfest of their own, with a giant beer tent literally bursting with overly-cheerful monsters.
From September 18th to October 9th, players can take part in the event by delivering the traditional sample of "malt?to MapleStory Europe's ever present event-NPC Charles. In return, an invitation to the giant beer tent will be rewarded, where the "real?party begins in a traditional, hearty German atmosphere with malt beer and sausages. By completing a specific quest within the beer tent, such as fighting off a horde of red-faced, wobbling monsters, players can win themselves special Oktoberfest themed items such as a sausage-shaped hat and power boosting mugs of (non-alcoholic!) beer. Players are also encouraged to collect empty beer glasses dropped by monsters, which in turn can be exchanged for special recovering food items.
MapleStory originally launched in South Korea in April 2003 and quickly went on to become one of the most successful online games of all time, with over 89 million registered users worldwide. MapleStory Europe, which launched in May 2007, is the European iteration of the completely free to play title, and offers gamers across Europe the chance to play MapleStory in five different languages ?English, French, German, Spanish, and Dutch.
