Guide to GvG in Guild Wars

No Tags

Introduction

Guild combat is some of the best gameplay Guild Wars has to offer. Part of its appeal, in my opinion, is that it involves two teams on equal footing with the same objectives—killing the Guild Lord. The Tombs Arena offers a variety of different forms of combat, from capture the flag to king of the hill. Typically, however, there are numerous outside elements that can affect result of a match. For example, your team could destroy three teams in a 5-team free-for-all, for example, only to be charged from the rear by the last team, resulting in a possible loss. Or you could hold the center in a king of the hill for 9 minutes only to have two teams rush you with 16 players, concentrating fire on your hero, who is killed and replaced with only a few seconds to spare. The Tombs can be an exciting and fun place to compete, but in my opinion guild combat is where the most all-around talented groups will shine.

Of course, getting into a guild that can field a competent group can be an obstacle in itself. But with the matching system that is based off the ladder, teams should be able to compete against guilds of similar ability, thus making for an exciting fight, regardless of their ability (or lack thereof). This guide is to explain its character and some basic strategies to employ when competing in a guild combat.

The Basics

Something should be pointed out about general rules for guild combat. First, if you are dead you will automatically be resurrected every time the game clock reached an even-numbered minute. For example, resurrections (including the Guild Thief but no other NPCs) are done map-wide at 2 minutes, 4 minutes, etc on the game clock. If your Death Penalty is at -60%, you cannot be resurrected by the Resurrection Shrine and can only be resurrected by another party member. The only way to win in a guild battle is when one of the Guild Lords is killed or if a team completely quits the match. There is a flag stand in the center, which will accept the flag from either team. Once planted, a timer is started. Every 2 minutes the team controlling this flag stand will receive a Morale Boost of 10%, up to a maximum of 10% above base stats.

Each team starts inside their keep. The Guild Lord resides at the back of the keep, surrounded by 2 Arcanists, which are powerful Elementalists. The Guild Thief also starts here. Scattered around the ramparts are various Ranger NPCs with 3 NPC Footmen outside the main gate. Down the stairs from the Guild Lord are the Resurrection Shrine and the team’s flag. The keep is completely enclosed, with two entrances/exits. The main exit is the quickest path to the center, while the “side” exits lead to a path around the outside of the map. Each gate has levers on each side that can open the gate. Inside, levers can be used by anyone at any time. Outside, levers can only be used by the members from that keep or by the opposing team if they have their Guild Thief with them. The Guild Thief is an NPC that will follow you much like the Hero does in the Tombs. The only way inside an enemy’s keep is through use of the Guild Thief, rushing in when opened by the opposing team or an ally operating the lever from the inside or through Necromancer teleportation spells.

A new addition to guild combat is the catapult. There are two catapults on the map, each on a hill facing the main entrance of each keep. Anyone can operate the catapult if they are carrying a Repair Kit, which are located around the map. Although slow in firing, they launch a massive area-of-effect stone which randomly lands somewhere inside the keep its facing. Obviously, if you’re anywhere near the point of impact, you can expect to be eating grass waiting for a resurrection.

Basic Strategy

Avoid bringing henchmen into battle unless absolutely necessary. They are pretty decent when it comes to PvE, but in player combat they just don’t have the capacity to function even close to the level required for success.

Don’t charge through an enemy gate without support. Too many people try chasing someone down after they’ve run inside, while the gate closes behind them, thus separating them from the rest of their group. If you’re going to charge a door, make sure most of your party is with you.

Don’t wander around the inside of your keep if the other team is operating the catapult. This is just plain wrong. At the point of impact, the catapult does roughly 900 damage, with the numbers diminishing as distance from the center increases. It is quite easy to have your entire group decimated by a single catapult shot. It’s best to regroup near the Resurrection Shrine or other area safe from catapult fire.

Don’t kamikazes the flag stand trying to plant your flag if the enemy holds the center. All this will accomplish is you dying in a location where you will be difficult to resurrect and the other team will just replant their flag before your first morale boost.

Refrain from playing with the catapult unless the opportunity arises. If the other team is fighting you in the center, operation of the catapult is quite the waste of time. The catapult is indeed a fun toy and can be powerful against base campers and the like, but should only be used under certain conditions. Screwing around with it while your team is getting crushed in the center will make you unpopular in a hurry.

Always keep an eye on the radar. Some teams will try and go around the outer paths in an attempt to charge the Guild Lord without having to fight through you. Nothing is worse than having the upper hand and controlling the center, only to lose because no one paid attention to their radar or the condition of the Guild Lord.

If your team is suffering from high death penalties, charging the other team is typically unwise. The best chance you have for a comeback is to use the NPCs inside your base as additional fighters and work on defending your Guild Lord. If you successfully repel an attack by the opposing team, everyone will get a 16% morale boost from the 8 kills, and while the enemy waits to be resurrected, your team can plant its flag at the center and attempt to defend it for the Morale Boost. Being on the offensive is not necessarily the best strategy.

Advanced Strategy

I am not going to go into details about specific party builds and character classes to bring to a guild battle. That determination is up to the guild and what team strategy they want to employ. But there are some tactical options to consider, independent of the type of group composition you bring into battle. They are described below.

Victory through Attrition

The idea behind this approach is to get your group’s morale maxed at +10% while causing the enemy to incur death penalties. Your team should concentrate on gaining the center and planting their flag as soon as possible. Once this is accomplished the catapult should be employed, while the rest of the team concentrates on taking out the NPC’s around the periphery of the enemy base while repelling every new attack. If successful, your team will eventually be able simply to overwhelm the enemy, due to their high Death Penalty, killing them off after their resurrection and then finishing off the Guild Lord.

If you find yourself the victim of this approach, the best counter is to attempt to cut your losses and defend your Guild Lord, in an attempt to gain morale boosts through kills and an eventual retake of the center and the flag stand. Once the opposing team is maxed at 10% Morale Boost, worrying about the center is a waste of time. They can hold it for the next hour and it won’t give them any additional benefit. Make sure that you avoid areas that the catapult can reach; otherwise, it will destroy your party, causing your members to incur greater and greater Death Penalties. If your Death Penalty is too high to attempt a center retake, just concentrate on defending, since this is likely your best chance at winning.

The Sneak Attack

The Guild Lord is tough to kill, but if an entire group concentrates its damage on him he can be taken out rather quickly. The idea behind this strategy is to rush the Guild Lord without having to fight the opposing group. Because of the radar this tactic can be difficult to pull off, but with a well executed plan it can be done. One way this can be accomplished is by attempting the following:

Send two players out your side gate and have them run towards the first intersection. They will be decoys and should not be the main damage dealers, since you will need them for killing the Guild Lord. Also, they should not constitute all your healing ability, since you will need that too. The job for these two is to get the enemy to chase them from the center, far enough away to where they do not notice the main group moving around the opposite side of the map.

The rest of your group gets the Guild Thief and proceeds out the main gate. They are not going towards the center; however, they will be following the outside path towards the enemy’s side gate. Once at this gate, the Guild Thief is used to gain entrance and then a mad rush is made at the Guild Lord with the expectation that he can be killed quickly.

This concludes the overview of the arenas. Try out which ones you like best and come up with your own tactics to better control the maps. Good luck!

Although difficult to execute, this method of attack can result in a swift victory for your team if done successfully.

Conclusion

There are many factors which can affect the results of the GvG battle, and many of them depend on your game experience and luck, what you can only do is to get yourself fully armed, using all of your gold to buy the most powerful items, that’s the foundation of victory.

A Guide to Defending Your Keep in Age of Conan

No Tags

If your guild decides to take control of a battle keep within the Border Kingdom you will inevitably have to defend it. In order to successfully defend against a siege you need to know the basics of defending your battle keep and keeping the enemy at bay as you maintain a point lead and try to wait out the siege attack window. Have some scouts keep a check on any areas near your Border Kingdom entrance in case a guild decides to launch an attack at the last minute rather than declaring early. If one does attack, you will be given a message, but don’t get caught with your pants down. Always expect an attack and then you are never surprised or unorganized when it comes.

Step 1: Assemble Your Army

The Ballista Builder can be found on the tower wall.

As the old saying goes, the best defense is a good offense stands true even here. As a defender your main purpose is to prevent the enemy from destroying your structures. In order to do this you will need an army to defend your keep. To successfully manage your army you will need to assign the appropriate levels to a given group and form a raid. Lower levels should be given someone within range that can apprentice them for the defense. The most important part of commanding your army is a clear line of communication. You can do this in text, but it is much more efficient and faster to use a voice chat server to aid in quick communication. Establish your communication method and be ready to give your raid orders and adjust your battle plan as needed.

Step 2: Perimeter Defense

Depending on where your keep is located you may have as few as one siege module on the outer walls or as many as three. Your goal for defense should be to disable your enemies’ siege engines at all cost. Even if your attacking group is wiped out. If they bring down the siege engine then you have achieved a victory if even a small one. You should have small attack groups ready with this general mission in mind. Every minute you hamper the enemy’s ability to bring down a structure brings you that much closer to victory.

Use your ballista to knockback the enemy.

Another method of keep defense are the ballista engines which any of your guild can acquire from the ballista builder located on the top of your keeps tower walls. A ballista will do no damage to the enemy but it does provide area of effect knockback to enemy units within its blast range. These small engines can be set on the walls and operate much like siege engines in an attack. These work much like casting an area of effect spell. You will be given a siege targeting module in your inventory to fire your ballista with. I have found it is often best to have any lower level members or lower DPS classes such as tanks who can’t do a lot from the inside of your defenses to man these and use them to beat back attackers.

Rangers and mages are excellent assets to have during any defense. Rangers can use their long range bow skills to take out enemies from a long distance giving you a very useful method for disposing of pesky units as your rangers rain down death from above along the walls. Mages while not having the range of a good ranger can still drop AoE spells on any cluster of enemies that get to close. Not to mention necromancers can drop their pets down on any nearby siege engines.

Step 3: Keeping Your Point Lead

When the siege begins the defender has the advantage. You will have over 3500 points and it is the job of the attacker to overtake your score. The only way to do this is for them to destroy your structures. All you have to do is stop them or delay them long enough for the two hour attack window to end. Your main goal should always be to take out any siege weapons as quickly as possible. Even if you suffer heavy loses while doing so. Anyone attacking your keep will need to bring down structures in order to win, so if you can stop them from doing so it won’t matter how many of your guild they kill. Stop their siege engines and you stop them. Anytime your enemy brings down one of your structures they will gain a fair amount of points and you will lose some. So the balance can shift quickly if you don’t stop their siege attacks. But do remember, people are the basic factors of attack and defense, if you lose too much of them, you may be unable to organize an efficient defense again.

Always end your battle on a good note.

The most important thing for the defender is to hamper or hinder the attacking forces efforts to bring down their structures at all cost. Without the points earned from destroying your structures no siege can succeed. Use your ballista weapons, set up hit and run groups, and be ready to go the distance. Time is your enemy and ally. Turn it against your attackers and you will be victorious and keep your battle keep for another day.

Step 4: Win or Lose

Always leave the field on a good note. This will not always be the case, but if you want your enemies to respect you, leave the field on a positive note in the face of victory or defeat. Otherwise you might become that guild that everyone hates and that target on your back may become just a bit bigger. Of course there are those that like that so the choice is yours. Be respectful and respected or don’t. The choice is yours.

There are many factors which can affect the results of the battle, and many of them depend on your game experience and luck, what you can only do is to get yourself fully armed, using all of your gold to buy the most powerful items, that’s the foundation of victory.
Good luck!

Something shouldn’t be forgot for all the classes in Rohan Online

No Tags

Dekans
- Never forget you have taunt. You are one of the only two classes that can get mobs to hit you instead of someone else unconditionally. If you are low on vit (or none at all), inform the party of your inability to tank, but if you’re at least 3/1 whatever/vit with up-to-date armor you should be able to tank for a little while. Work with your healer and see.
- Use AoEs to attract adds (the mobs around the main one), you can make it work like a low powered taunt.
- If you’re not the main tank, always be on the lookout to get mobs off your fellow mages/healers/archers/dhans
- If you notice someone’s health is plummeting fast, Heal your teammates!

Dhans
- Don’t attack first, ever. You are never a tank.
- Don’t pull without sprint on.
- Remember your archer buddy and share with him your Dex buff, he’ll be grateful.
- Remember you have a couple of limited forms of Crowd Control (confusion, mana burn) use them if the situation gets too bad.

Knights
- Even if you’re not a tank build, keep a shield handy, you can tank decently well even if you’re not a 4 vit build
- Use bleed on other targets than the main one to keep some limited aggro on them.
- Always be aware of what’s happening around you and taunt stuff of the weak characters.

Mages
- Remember you have forms of Crowd Control; use them if the situation gets too tough.
- If have another mage in the party, decide on which one keeps Dark eyes up, no use for both to suffer the mana cost.

Archers
- Do never forget you are the puller.
- If you have the Evasion Buff, don’t forget your fellow party members, it helps everyone.
- Use your limited forms of roots/snares to help manage a situation that gets out of hand.

White Mages
- If things go south you need to keep the tank alive. You can wand any mob to death if it’s someone there to keep it off you.
- If you feel you have nothing to do (not much healing to do, all healing spells are on cooldown) help with a root or a nuke.
- Remember the buffs you have are not only for you. Recovery helps everyone in your party, Mages get a lot of mileage out of Int Blow.
- Magic Barrier is not for you only.

Finally, for all the classes in a party, you shouldn’t be the burden of you party, you should know what to do and have the ability to do it. For example, playing as a tank, you should at least have a good armor to make sure you can absorb more damage. So if your equipment is poor, don’t hesitate to use your crone to buy everything you need.

Money Guide in Cabal Online

No Tags

Technique Number 1: Farming.

As we all know, farming is the first and easiest way to make Alz

You pick up the monster drops and sell them to shops, or other players via personal shop.

To use your personal shop, click on yourself, then at the top use the drop down menu. Select ‘Personal Shop’, then stock up and sell.

Some drops will be extremely expensive. Cores, Epaulettes, Double Slot items etc, which can be sold in the personal shop for a huge amount more than the NPC shops will buy them for. So don’t make any mistakes about pricing items.

Technique Number 2: BLSH (Buy low, sell high)

Most merchants’ favorite way of making cabal gold.

You buy an item at a fairly low price, and then re-sell it for a slightly higher price than that which you paid. Repeat however many times you can be bothered. You must keep your eyes on the item market, or you may lose your Alz.

Remember: Higher level items and lower level items take a lot longer to sell. Mid-level items are best for this technique e.g. Upgrade Core Mediums, Force Core Highs, Bluestin/Titanium Armour, EoX+3/4, Level 40-100 Jewellery.

Technique Number 3: Crafting

It’s a pain. Yes. I know, but stick with it. It’ll make you millions in the long run.

First off, once you reach level 50 you’ll get the Map Code to Port Lux. Once there, the Core Alchemist will have a quest for you, the reward for such will be a Transmuter of your choosing: Armourset, Martialset, Battleset, Artifact etc.

Once you’ve picked your type, you can start breaking down armour, jewelry and weapons into their crafting materials.

After you make your items, you can sell them at any price you want. Personally I make them as cheap as possible, so I make a tiny bit more cabal money than I spent, to increase sale speed.

Adept Items sell the best, as more people are looking for Skill Exp. So once you’re able to make Adept in that certain type, it’s advisable to stay with that until you can do the next type. Although a lot of people do all the enchantments anyway.

Make sure you’re always keeping prices around the average or you’ll never sell anything.
If the prices are too low you’ll know about it when your items disappear extremely fast. If so, raise the price a bit next time. It’s recommended to take a look at what others are selling and their price, which will help you to formulate a reasonable and profitable price.

Skill EXP Guide in Cabal Online

No Tags

Gaining skill EXP is really a boring thing, but it’s also inevitable. If you want to get skill EXP efficiently, just read this guide and prepare enough Alz.?

Method1. Fast Skill XP Farming with using Combo
This method is recommended - you gain at level 10 a skill called “Combo Start”. With this skill you are able to cast spells without the delay of casting times (so you can cast skills unstoppable)!
A little bonus at this method is that you gain a certain % of additional skill xp:

Bonus:
Excellent: +30% Skill XP
Good: +10% Skill XP
Bad + 0% Skill XP

When you reach your eleventh hit then the action bar becomes very little but when you reach the fifteenth hit you gain additional skill xp and your combo is shown at the right window at the bottom!

PRO Fast Rank-UP; Combo-Support; Extra Skill XP;

CONTRA You must stay at the PC; Old PC’s have a low FPS rate (Frames per second) so its hard to hit the action bar after the 11th hit;

Method2 Training Dummies

Ok this is the method which needs the most time. If you are a Premium Member then you are able to use these dummies. Every city has its own 4 dummies (they stand next to the city - often outside of the town). You can train up to 30% of your Skill Rank at those dummies (after reaching level 90 there is another way to skill up at dummies (mentioned below). This means that for example you can skill 30 of 90 skill ups at those puppets.
To skill afk (away from keyboard) there are 2 hints:

The Press-Down-Your-Button-All-The-Time-Hint:

Just put a coin or a sheet of paper between the skill buttons (you should add your skills to your quickslotbar before).
Example how I did it:
I putted the fastest Skill in quickslot 1 -> pinched a piece of paper between button “1″ and “2″ so that the button got stuck (this means the button gets pressed all the time). Now your character casts nonstop (after targeting the dummy) the same skill. Important is that the button get STUCK!

The Window-Mode-Hint:

At first you switch in window mode (Options - Graphic - Activate Window Mode). Then you target the dummy and press the quickslot button for your skill. Press the button all the time, so that your char casts nonstop. While pressing the button, click outside of the window (for example at the desktop or at the toolbar). Now stop pressing the button and your char should cast nonstop without pressing a button! It’s important that you don’t minimize the window (otherwise it will abort)!

Ingame Shop Hint:

Just press the button again like at the Window-Mode-Hint and while pressing it hit the ingameshop button (little coin at the right bottom of your toolbar).

PRO You can be afk; 1/3 of the rank can be trained

CONTRA It takes a long time because you gain less xp then with the other methods; limited to 30% of the rank (except you are level 90+ and did the rank up quest); you have to be a premium member;

NEW Method2 b) Train at dummies over 30%

Like mentioned before we are now able to skill at dummies beyond 30%. The mean thing is that you have to be 90+, did the level 90 rank up quest and own a premium account. If you have these things then you are able to level nonstop at those little dumb puppets without being at the PC. But there is a little thing which has to get mentioned:

After you passed 30% of your rank up (example: 30 of 90 ups) then you get less skill xp as before! So skilling up needs more time after the 30% (but of course you can continue)!

PRO No dumb skill farming anymore; you can skill up afk; nonstop skilling without interruption;

CONTRA Again you need to be premium; takes more time then any other method;

Method3 Skilling AFK at high level mobs

This method is the most risky method - you need to look for a mob with many health points (like the mobs in LiD, RS or UG). Best mobs for this are mobs with a “+” after their names or bossmobs in dungeons (they have more Hp than the others).
Ok now head on:
Take the cheapest and lowest weapon you can find (startup weapons are the best for this). Take armor which protects you well (the mob mustn’t hit you too much or make too much damage!). Now the expensive part of this method: The Lifecapsules! You need them to heal your char while being afk. You can use your Alz to buy them from other players (really expensive!)
Now look for a suitable mob - if you are level 50+ you also can enter a party dungeon and hit the closed gates (they have much hp and don’t hurt you )
If you choose a mob notice following:
Your mob should stand alone and not surrounded by other mobs (so that you can “concentrate” at ONE mob!). I recommend the bosses in Lake in Dusk (they always stand alone - but you need to own a mappart and you need to be level 75+).
Ok now let’s begin:
Choose one of the hints I mentioned at the part of the training dummies (like Stucking a coin between your quickslot buttons etc.).
Now you can watch how your char beats up the mob while you just have to go afk
PRO You can be afk and gain a lot of Skill XP;

CONTRA Risky; Expensive (because of the Lifecapsules); I recommend to do this when you reach level 50+;

Method4 Boxing

this method is similar to Method3 - you beat up a mob while being AFK.
At level 50 and rank “Expert” you can buy an interesting upgrade skill at the Instructor in Port Lux (he’s standing next to the vulcans - not in town).
Skills are called:
1. Sword XP to Magic XP
2. Magic XP to Sword XP
This means: When you buy “Sword to Magic” you ONLY receive Magic Skill XP! So you could skill up your Magic Rank by using sword skills.
Now search again for a mob with many health points (like in Method3 mentioned).
But keep in mind following points:

1) The mob must give you at least 5 XP each hit (you can see this at the right window at the bottom).

2) Auto-Attack has to be activated (Options -> Game -> Cross at “Auto Attack”)

3) Choose Low-level-weapons again AND buy Lifecapsules with your cabal gold!!!

[A small declaration at the edge: At dummies you can’t do “Normal Attacks” because you don’t get XP for it (you MUST get at least 5 XP)! So you can attack mobs with normal attacks and the funny thing is that you receive Skill XP for magic AND sword with boxing! But you get less than using normal Skills! But after buying the upgrade in Port Lux you concentrate your Skill XP to one section
After you did this, target a mob and press “Normal Attack”. Now your char should begin to beat up the mob (if you use swords then your char should hit the mob with the sword).

PRO AFK-Skill-Leveling;

CONTRA Less Skill XP than using other methods; Expensive (because of Lifecapsules); You must be level 50+ and at least rank “Expert” in one section;

NEW Small hints how to get more Skill XP

There are now some dungeons/quests which give you additional Skill XP.

As a reward for B1f Frozen Tower you gain 5000 Skill xp after finishing the dungeon. And every skill xp quest gives you additional Skill XP.
Also those “new” T-helper-quests are very acceptable for farming Skill XP. You gain while farming mobs and cards a huge amount of XP! So don’t get aggressive or desperate when you don’t find your 50 cards (always think of the Skill XP)

Karazhan Key Guide in World of Warcraft

No Tags

Kharazan is the first “raid” dungeon in Wrold of Warcraft Burning Crusade. You can get a lot of gold and powerful item from it.It is a 10-man instance. This thread is about the Kharazan key quest and how to do it. The first two pieces of your Epic Tier 4 set drop in Kharazan, so getting this quest chain done as soon as possible is imperative to progressing in WoW Burning Crusade.

1. Arcane Disturbances/Restless Activity - Beginning of the chain. Pick up these two quests outside of Kharazan from Archmage Alturus. It’s in Deadwind Pass (just east of Darkshire). This part is solo able. Note that the Ghostly Essences have a very low drop rate, plus all the mobs are level 69-70 and very close together. Some classes may want to duo for this, but don’t attract mobs above your ability.

2. Contact from Dalaran - Alturus at Kharazan instructs you to go to another mage in Dalaran, which is in Hillsbrad/Alterac Mountains. Also solo able.

3. Khadgar - You must go speak to Khadgar. He chills near the Naaru (A’dal) in the middle of Shattrath City. He gives you the first part of the chain that is group content.

4. Entry Into Karazhan - You need to go to the Shadow Labyrinth in Auchindoun and get an item there. This is the first Karazhan Key Fragment. To get into the Shadow Labyrinth, you’ll need the key, which drops off of the last boss in Sethekk Halls. Many of us already have this key, and unlike the key to Kharazan, only one person in your group needs to have it for everyone to gain entrance to the instance (like UBRS). You’ll find the first key fragment in an urn located to the left and slightly behind Murmur, the last boss in Shadow Labyrinth. You’ll need to kill him to get it (he’s really easy) and all players can loot the urn.

5. The Second and Third Fragments - For the next part of the chain, you must go to the Steamvault (in Coilfang Reservoir) and find the second key fragment. Jump to your right off the bridge that leads to the first boss. Swim down into the whirlpool-type thing and you’ll find the urn near the bottom (kind of hard to see). Go to the Arcatraz (a 5-man dungeon in Tempest Keep in the Netherstorm) for the third key fragment. You’ll need a key to get into the Arcatraz as well.

The Arcatraz key quest chain starts at Nether-stalker Khay’ji in Area 52. The first quest in the chain is Consortium Crystal Collection. You may have already done it, though, and will thus have to figure out where you are in the chain for yourself. Ultimately, you’ll have to go to The Mechanar (Tempest Keep 5-man) and The Botanica (Tempest Keep 5-man) and obtain a drop from each of the final bosses of those instances. You take these two key shards back to Khay’ji, and he’ll give you your Arcatraz Key.

Good job. You’re almost there. Now you just need to actually go to the Arcatraz and get the third key fragment. It is located in the corner of a big blue room after the first boss. You don’t even need to kill the first boss to get this key (but he’s pretty easy, so why not).
6. The Master’s Touch - You’re almost done now. The final part of the chain involves completing the Black Morass encounter in the Caverns of Time and talking to Medivh at the end (you need to complete the “saving Thrall” encounter in Old Hillsbrad Foothills before you attempt the Black Morass). This is a tough encounter, but if you have a tight group and everyone focuses, you can certainly get it done. Here are some tips on it:

In this encounter, you must defend Medivh while he opens the Dark Portal. It is composed of 18 non-stop phases. In each phase, a portal opens, and a high-HP elite mob called a Rift Lord or Rift Keeper (melee and caster variations, respectively) will spawn. Every few seconds, non elite whelps or dragonking will spawn from the portal until the Rift Keeper/Lord is dead. They will go straight to Medivh, unless someone attacks them. There are several ways to do this: you can try to kill them as they spawn (while killing the Rift Keeper/Lord) or you can try to DPS the Keeper/Lord down very quickly, and then clean them up afterward. But you have to do this REALLY fast, because once they get to Medivh they will start draining his shield. The best option is to have one person (preferably a hunter, or maybe a mage) do what they can to slow down/kill the adds, while everyone else burns down the Keeper/Lord.

On phases 6, 12, and 18, there will be a boss in place of the Rift Keeper/Lord. Every player in your party gets a dragon that they can deploy in an area from an NPC at the beginning of the encounter. It is advisable to use these dragons on the boss fights. However, if you deploy the dragons near the boss, they will despawn. For this reason, put them right near Medivh. They will handle all the adds easily, so you can just focus on the boss.

The first boss is pretty straightforward. He does an AE arcane missiles type attack. You should be ok as long as your healer isn’t a feral druid or shadow priest. The second boss is tougher; he has a mortal strike that stacks for up to 90% healing reduced. The best way to negate this is to have an offtank. As this is not always possible, you’ll need to be creative: Invulnerability Pots, etc. The third boss is the easiest of all. You shouldn’t have any trouble with him.

Now just talk to Medivh and get your key.

A Guide on PvP Fighting and Conduct in cabal online

No Tags

Maybe most of these guidelines are even obvious, but I hope you can find something useful from it.

(1) Train your Combo.
No players can put too much emphasize on how important Combo is; it makes sure all your skills hit, and plus cancels the unimportant part of your skill-casting; ok short and sweet, your skills cast faster.
That means quick ownage.

(2) Fade Step and Dash accordingly, and use them in Combo too.
Fade Stepping is a strange one, most players thinks fade Step is useless but let me tell you something:
Fade Step does to your opponent as a mob dying does to your opponent.
They lose target on you, they have to click on you again, that’s wad makes fading so cool and make PvPs more “high”! Because if you fade your opponent has to spend extra effort just to re-lock on to you, and if they fade, you have to re-target too.
Plus it covers more distance and is much faster than Rolling, sure in low-level PvP you can roll all you want, but in higher levels we can just click on your while you’re rolling and then cast a G. Master on your butt later.

Dashing is the trick to win for melee characters. Because Force Archers and Wizards won’t be dashing that often in PvPs you’ll want to use one Dash to cover two of their Fade Steps. Their Fading gets very annoying after a while, especially if you let them knock you down from afar; start your combo with a dash!

(3) Keep your enemy in front of you. Use the Force (camera).
Simple enough, nobody likes being back on to the enemy at any moment. Get a good mouse, if not make sure you swing hard and good with your old mouse.
Scroll in or out accordingly, don’t zoom in too much so that you can only see your own character, but don’t zoom out too much either, hard for you to click on your target.

(4) Keep your knockdowns handy.
It has been proved that knockdowns work in Cabal SEA to interrupt combos. I was going PvP one time and while I comboed and this Warrior KD’ed me, my Combo broke even when he didn’t Fade or Roll away.
A well-timed KD can turn the tide of the battle; but if you dun have one handy, then speed is of the essence, though higher-rank skills will give you 1 or 2 KD skills sooner or later.
Of course some skills give you 100% immunity (blader/warrior) and 10 %(others) but you dun wanna rely on your skills too much, rely on yourself!

(5) Get a good mouse hand and pair of eyes.
You don’t wanna Combo happily halfway and then the Force Archer Fades once; there goes your combo because you didn’t click on her fast enough.
You must watch you enemy all the time in PvP.

(6) Don’t forget your Buffs
Later in game, one Lightning Enchant can turn the tide of battle.
Have courtesy and remind your opponent by saying “Buffs up”.

(7) Heal up before fighting.
Nonsense, painfully obvious but I’ve seen people who fights a PvP right after he/she finished 1 and forgot to heal up.

(8) All equips up!
sometimes I end up fighting a 3x wiz(I’m 2x) with my 3/3 attack katana because I was training skills..
So next time if you’re training skills in Port Lux, make sure to check equip first.
Use all of your Alz to buy the most powerful equipments for you.

(9) Fight fairly.
By this I mean, if you wanna use Aura for fighting, make sure your opponent is agreeable/does it too.
If you wanna use BM1 or BM2, both of you use it.
It’s a kind of pain for me to fight 3x warriors using Berserker even though I have Regular-rank Sword.

(10) Winning is not everything, show sportsmanship/swordsmanship in duels.
Enough said, I’ve seen players that take other player’s feelings for granted. One nice example: XenoEviL. He goes around shouting “UNDEFEATABLE” every time he wins somebody.
Avoid such sore-losing/sore-winning attitude at any time, to keep your duels fun and friendly.
Even if you’re on a winning streak, try to cut some slack on the nicer players so that they can say they won an AM/GM/Comp at only an exception.
That’s the kind who deserves some giving in to; the scumbags use Mana Freeze on them or just pawn them hard.
Pride is the number-one killer of a good duel.

(11) Bow.
Bow before and after duels if you can. Bow is a manner. Add in two words “good fight” and you would have made the duel a more pleasant one, one with the spirit of sportsmanship. People would enjoy dueling with you more. A few little courtesies can go a long way.
Though I am quite tempted to ask people not to curtsy to sore losers/winners, but it depends on you.
