Final Fantasy XiV Game Features

  • A persistent and evolving world with immersive storylines and well-developed characters
  • HD-quality, real-time cutscenes
  • Guild-based activities focused on catering to players with different gaming styles
  • Both quick and extensive gameplay sessions, accessible in solo and group play
  • The freedom to entirely alter the gameplay experience by equipping any of a wide array of weapons and tools in the Armoury System, one of the foundations of the FINAL FANTASY XIV experience and the driving force behind character development

Bonus for players with both FFXIV and FFXI accounts

Reduced Monthly Fee

XI and XIV Developer Hiromichi Tanaka had previously hinted at a reduction in the monthly fee of Final Fantasy XI and ZAM has since learned that current XI subscribers will receive a $5.95 base discount when both XI and XIV are registered to the same Square Enix Account. This discount will not apply during a free trial of either games and will only be offered to subscribers who pay by credit card. The discount will only be applied to one XI account per XIV account.

Users debating playing both games will only have until January 2011 to take advantage of the discount. If you do, your base fee for Final Fantasy XI would only be $7.00 versus $12.95!

Bonus XIV In-Game Item

A second bonus available to subscribers of both games is a special in-game item called Hermes Shoes.

Described as, “Named after an elder god, all but forgotten in the modern age, these gold-tipped shoes have been crafted with the lightest of leathers, making them optimal for use by heralds and noterunners.”, the Hermes Shoes will be available in your inventory at the start of the game, provided that you have an active XI account linked before your character is created and you must have a valid Content ID registered. The account cannot be in a free trial period.

Transfer Your Vana’diel Character Name

A third bonus to players of both worlds is the chance to transfer your character name over to Eorzea. However, due to restrictions on this feature, it’s hard to envision many players taking advantage of this bonus.

Transfers will not be applicable with the following instances:

  • If the FINAL FANTASY XIV playable character is created before an active FINAL FANTASY XI account is linked
  • If, at the time that the FINAL FANTASY XIV character is created, the Content ID on the linked FINAL FANTASY XI is invalid or has been cancelled
  • If the linked FINAL FANTASY XI account is within the free trial period
  • If no FINAL FANTASY XI character exists on the linked FINAL FANTASY XI account

Character names may take up to 24 hours to be available and will automatically take on the character’s Vana’diel server name as their surname.

Example:

  • FINAL FANTASY XI Player Character Name: Mikhalia
  • FINAL FANTASY XI World Name: Carbuncle
  • The resulting FINAL FANTASY XIV character name: Mikhalia Carbuncle

With a potential 24-hour wait on this bonus and the inability to choose your own surname, one would think that players would just as soon simply create the character with the name and surname of their choice immediately.

Update: Bonuses for the PlayStation 3 version will be announced at a later time.

Arcane Transmute Guide and more

No Tags

Good day,

Transmute is very simple in Runes Of Magic, but there are players who get confused by reading words from forum. Thus, i would like to put it not just in words. Below is the 1min long video on Arcane Transmute guide. Enjoy.

Transmute is:-
-Putting stats into an equipment
-An Equipment can only have a maximum of 6 mods/stats.
-Yellow Stats such as Endurance V that gives +Stam and +HP count as 1 mod/stat.
-When the transmute involved more than 6 mods/stats, only the weakest 6 mods/stats will be transmuted.
Besides Transmute, there are Refine, Tiering Weapon, Rune Slot, Durability, they can all be found in this well written nice guide. Have fun~

ONLY For those that would like to read more after watching, you may use Ctrl + F to search for your desired topic:

(i) Introduction to FS and MS

(ii) Recommended xmute for MA, PS with 3 stats FS.

Each xmute increase about 180HP and 45Attack

(iii) Recommended xmute for CL, KS with 2 stats FS.

Each xmute increase about 150HP and 150Attack

(iv) Higher level xmute with 1 stat FS or PFS.

Each xmute increase about 430Attack

(i) Introduction to FS and MS
FS = Fusion Stone, can be purchase from Varanas or Obisidan Stronghold.
There are different types of FS to purchase, however, it’s highly advised to purchase only the Stam I FS for xmute.

MS = Mana Stone, is what you get after xmute a FS with an equipment/weapon.
Example:
One 3 stats FS (+3 Stam, +3 Int, +10 HP) transmute with a level 44 equipment with (+17 Stam) = One Tier 3 Mana Stone with (+3 Stam, +3 Int, +10 HP and +17 Stam).

Summarize:
FS + Level 40 Equipment = Tier 2 Mana Stone
FS + Level 41 Equipment = Tier 3 Mana Stone
FS + Level 50 Purple/Orange Equipment = Tier 4 Mana Stone

(ii) Recommended xmute for MA, PS with 3 stats FS.
You need:
Same 3 stats FS x3
A Stam VII Equipment with lvl 41 or above
A Life VII Equipment with lvl 41 or above
A Str or Dex or Int or Spirit VIII Equipment with lvl 41 or above. (Depends on your class)

If your Class is:
Knight goes for Str VIII or Life VIII
Warrior goes for Str VIII
Mage goes for Int VIII
Rogue/Scout goes for Ability VIII
Priest goes for Spirit VIII or Life VIII

CONCLUSION:
A mage will xmute his equipment with a 3 stats FS and Stam VII, Life VII, Int VIII. If you’ve transmuted all 8 equipments (Head, Upper, Lower, Shoulder, Belt, Hand, Feet, Cape), you will have additional 1424HP, or 1709HP if those gears are high dura. Then, refine your Shoulder, Feet and Earrings with +2 for additional Stam and HP. With these transmute you will have sufficient HP to survive in MA, PS or even CL.
Each xmute increase about 180HP and 45Attack

(iii) Recommended xmute for CL, KS with 2 stats FS
You need:
Same 2 stats FS x3
Rank V Yellow Stats with matching dirty or
Rank IX or X Green stats with matching dirty.

Knight (Tanker)
Same 2 stats FS x3
One dirty stats
Endurance V (+150HP)
Stam IX (+140HP)
Stam VIII or Authority V or Oppression V or Rigor V (+100HP)
Each xmute increase about 400HP

Mage, Warrior, Rogue, Scout (Damage Dealer)
Same 2 stats FS x3
One dirty stats
Endurance V or Stam IX (+150HP or +140HP)
Illum V or Barbarain V or Fang V (+90 Attack, depends on class)
Might X or Keen V or Energy X or Warlock V or Int IX or Str IX or Ability X (+50 Attacks, depends on class)
Each xmute increase about 150HP and 150Attack

(iv) Higher level xmute with 1 stat FS or PFS.
FS + Level 41 Equipment = Tier 3 Mana Stone
FS + Level 50 Purple/Orange Equipment = Tier 4 Mana Stone

illumine VI, Fang VI, Barbarain VI are from lvl 50 Purple Equipment = Tier 4 Mana Stone.
Thus, you cannot xmute a T3 Stam IX, T3 illumine V and T4 illumine VI into an Equipment.

You have to xmute three T3 togehter, make it a T4 ManaStone, and xmute three T4 Mana Stone into an Equipment.

You need (For Rogue):
Stam I FS x5
Keen clean
Fang V clean
Fang VI clean
Barbarain V clean
Barbarain VI clean

Transmute Stam I FS with Keen V = T3 MS with Keen V Stam I
Transmute Stam I FS with Fang V = T3 MS with Fang V Stam I
Transmute Stam I FS with Barbarian V = T3 MS with Bar V Stam I
Transmute those three T3 MS = T4 MS with Keen, Fang, Bar V and Stam I
Transmute Stam I FS with Fang VI = T4 MS with Fang VI Stam I
Transmute Stam I FS with Barbarian VI = T4 MS with Bar VI Stam I

Lastly, transmute those three T4 with an Equipment to make it:
Stam I, Keen V, Fang V, Fang VI, Barbarain V, Barbarain VI
Each xmute increase about 430AttackTake it slow and easy to enjoy this FREE TO PLAY online game. There are hardcore players who used to work too hard but in the end stressed themselves and left the game.

Captain Ivy Quest in silkroad online

keywords:

Regardless of your race and high level; you can do the Ivy quest. The reward might seem pretty awesome (to some people). So I decided to make a formal guide that will explain the steps needed to successfully complete the quest. I plan to put those zerk scrolls to good use!

Shahad’s Mail:
The Ivy Quest begins in Sarmakand with the Hunter Guild. Speak with Shahad and he will give you a letter to deliver to Constantinople, you must ride a horse or walk to Constantinople and deliver the letter to General Ratchel, who stands south of the Stable, at the Military Camp.
REWARD:
21,000 Exp
2,700 Skill Exp
6,000 gold

Ivy 1
Recommended level: 25
Speak with General Ratchel again to accept the next quest, she will tell you how to capture a Closier Informant. But before you go running off to find these, you must go do Adventurer Demetri to get the traps. He stands to the right of storage in Constantinople.

Demetri’s Quest:
You need 20 vine stalks. You get these from killing Evil Order Soldiers at Haran’s Tower. You need about 45 small knives that are dropped only by the soldiers. To turn these into vines you need to run to The Pond Ruins because it only works disjointing here. You can disjoint these like you did with the charms at the Taoist quest (right-click on the items). If you do not get 20 vines, just go back and kill more soldiers for more small knives. After you collect 20 vine stalks, run back to Constantinople and speak with Demetri, he will give you your reward and 5 traps.
REWARD:
60,000 Exp
8,000 Skill Exp
15,000 gold

Ivy 1
Recommended level: 30

Now with the traps you got from the Demetri’s quest, find the Closier informants that are in front of the Amphitheater. They will have the yellow/orange quest icon above their heads. Right click a trap so it’s laid on the ground (red kind of net thing) you need to lure an Informant into the trap, easiest way is to punch it (without weapon) then run over your trap so it follows you. When you have one Closier informant imprisoned, run to Constantinople within 30 minutes. Running, not riding on a horse or transport because: On the way Closier Guardians spawn. You must kill 15. They spawn approximately every 60 seconds. After the 15 are killed, run into the city and deliver the quest to General Ratchel.
REWARD:
24,000 Exp
2,800 Skill Exp
5 Repair Hammers

Ivy 2
Recommended level: 35

- Must be in an Exp / Item share party with at least 2 members (leader and a friend)
- Party leader must have Ivy 2 quest.
Talk with General Ratchel to get Ivy 2. You get 5 horns when you accept. Now, you use these horns at Harans Tower, Cleopatra’s Gate and Amphitheater. There you must activate a horn at certain places (usually at the entrances, you may fail some times). A Closier Leader will spawn if you activate the horn in the right area. Kill the monster, it will drop a sign for each party member in the proximity, however only the leader needs the item. When the leader has all the signs from monsters of the 3 places, then you kill Punishers at the Amphitheater until it drops Punisher’s Blood.

When you get the Punisher’s Blood, right click it and all 3 stones will become a key. With this key you must go to Evil Fortress into the center of the ‘Den’. When you stand here, all other party members must be away from you so their faces are 100% blue on the party bar (only if they are not fighting with you, otherwise you should stay near each other so that you both with teleport). You now right click the key and you will be teleported to a private area. Captain Ivy will spawn after a short time in your proximity. Within 20 minutes you must kill Ivy. After you kill her you get a hair. A blue teleport diamond thing will appear, you will be teleported, go to Constantinople and deliver the quest to General Ratchel and receive your reward.
REWARD:
40,000 Exp
4,000 Skill Exp
20 Memory of Red Hair (zerk scrolls)

Misc. Info:
-With successful quest you get 20 Scrolls, which will completely fill your berserk immediately when it’s empty and not in use.
-If your party member has already completed the Ivy 2 quest, he/she can teleport with you to fight Captain Ivy.
-If you die while fighting Ivy, you can still complete the quest if your party member(s) kill Ivy.

Level 20 Job Change in Fiesta

keywords:

Introduction
when you are level 20 you can do your job change quest. The difficulty level is actually different depending on your class. Being a mage, I have failed the quest three times before succeeding; but as a cleric, I succeeded on my first try without much difficulty at all; if you want to save your time and silver to get through this in the first go, then read this guide. Some might have found it easy, but it was fairly difficult for me because I had no idea what I was supposed to be expecting. It would be better if you start the quest knowing what to expect.

Before You Begin
Make sure you have the following:

Lots of HP/SP stones and potions. You will need it throughout the quest (mainly for the last part – keep in mind you cannot rest in your mini house in the Dungeon of Shadows).
Scrolls (I have used vitality, power and defense scroll). You will need this for the last part.
Elderine/Roumen scrolls if you don’t want to walk all the time.
Also, if you have a computer that likes to stuff up or lag every now and then, I suggest you to restart your game/computer/whatever just as a safety measure. Not sure if that would help, but it doesn’t hurt to do it anyway, right?

The Easy Part

Quest NPCs Each class will have to meet their own NPC and complete different missions before going to the Dungeon of Shadows.

Mages — Enchanter Master Wishis.
Archers — Scout Master Deikid.
Clerics — Paladin Master Keast.
Fighters — Warrior Master Marty.

Locations in Elderine

Mages
After you have spoken to Enchanter Master Wishis, she will tell you to fight 10 boars. It’s too easy. I assume you know where boars are by now (if you don’t… they can be found at the centre of Forest of Mist near Ratmen). When you’re done, return to Wishis and she’ll tell you to go see Grand Master Sean.

Archers
After you have spoken to Scout Master Deikid, he will tell you to kill 10 slimes. After you have killed them, return to him and he’ll direct you to Grand Master Sean.

Clerics
After you have spoken to Paladin Master Keast, she will tell you to hand in one SP Potion (tier 1) to her. When that’s done, you’ll be told to find Grand Master Sean.

Fighters
After you have spoken to Warrior Master Marty, he will request you to deliver a letter to Skill Master Ruby in Roumen. When you have delivered the quest item to Ruby, she tells you that Marty has drinking problems and asks you to deliver her response back to Marty. After that, Marty tells you he can’t teach you anything so he tells you to go to and seek Grand Master Sean instead.

Grand Master Sean can be found in Forest of Mist:

Note to all classes: Before you go ahead to find him, make sure you have stocked up all your HP/SP stones and potions, and your scrolls. The hard part comes next and you will save some time if you fetch your things from your bank now rather than going back and forth.
The Hard Part
Grand Master Sean will tell you to fetch him the shadow key to get into the Dungeon of Shadow. You can kill any monster in the Forest of Mist to get the key (the key is an actual drop). I’ve got mine from a Ratman, but I’m certain that you can get it from any mob. When you give him the key, he will let you into the Dungeon of shadow.
