Captain Ivy Quest in silkroad online

keywords:

Regardless of your race and high level; you can do the Ivy quest. The reward might seem pretty awesome (to some people). So I decided to make a formal guide that will explain the steps needed to successfully complete the quest. I plan to put those zerk scrolls to good use!

Shahad’s Mail:
The Ivy Quest begins in Sarmakand with the Hunter Guild. Speak with Shahad and he will give you a letter to deliver to Constantinople, you must ride a horse or walk to Constantinople and deliver the letter to General Ratchel, who stands south of the Stable, at the Military Camp.
REWARD:
21,000 Exp
2,700 Skill Exp
6,000 gold

Ivy 1
Recommended level: 25
Speak with General Ratchel again to accept the next quest, she will tell you how to capture a Closier Informant. But before you go running off to find these, you must go do Adventurer Demetri to get the traps. He stands to the right of storage in Constantinople.

Demetri’s Quest:
You need 20 vine stalks. You get these from killing Evil Order Soldiers at Haran’s Tower. You need about 45 small knives that are dropped only by the soldiers. To turn these into vines you need to run to The Pond Ruins because it only works disjointing here. You can disjoint these like you did with the charms at the Taoist quest (right-click on the items). If you do not get 20 vines, just go back and kill more soldiers for more small knives. After you collect 20 vine stalks, run back to Constantinople and speak with Demetri, he will give you your reward and 5 traps.
REWARD:
60,000 Exp
8,000 Skill Exp
15,000 gold

Ivy 1
Recommended level: 30

Now with the traps you got from the Demetri’s quest, find the Closier informants that are in front of the Amphitheater. They will have the yellow/orange quest icon above their heads. Right click a trap so it’s laid on the ground (red kind of net thing) you need to lure an Informant into the trap, easiest way is to punch it (without weapon) then run over your trap so it follows you. When you have one Closier informant imprisoned, run to Constantinople within 30 minutes. Running, not riding on a horse or transport because: On the way Closier Guardians spawn. You must kill 15. They spawn approximately every 60 seconds. After the 15 are killed, run into the city and deliver the quest to General Ratchel.
REWARD:
24,000 Exp
2,800 Skill Exp
5 Repair Hammers

Ivy 2
Recommended level: 35

- Must be in an Exp / Item share party with at least 2 members (leader and a friend)
- Party leader must have Ivy 2 quest.
Talk with General Ratchel to get Ivy 2. You get 5 horns when you accept. Now, you use these horns at Harans Tower, Cleopatra’s Gate and Amphitheater. There you must activate a horn at certain places (usually at the entrances, you may fail some times). A Closier Leader will spawn if you activate the horn in the right area. Kill the monster, it will drop a sign for each party member in the proximity, however only the leader needs the item. When the leader has all the signs from monsters of the 3 places, then you kill Punishers at the Amphitheater until it drops Punisher’s Blood.

When you get the Punisher’s Blood, right click it and all 3 stones will become a key. With this key you must go to Evil Fortress into the center of the ‘Den’. When you stand here, all other party members must be away from you so their faces are 100% blue on the party bar (only if they are not fighting with you, otherwise you should stay near each other so that you both with teleport). You now right click the key and you will be teleported to a private area. Captain Ivy will spawn after a short time in your proximity. Within 20 minutes you must kill Ivy. After you kill her you get a hair. A blue teleport diamond thing will appear, you will be teleported, go to Constantinople and deliver the quest to General Ratchel and receive your reward.
REWARD:
40,000 Exp
4,000 Skill Exp
20 Memory of Red Hair (zerk scrolls)

Misc. Info:
-With successful quest you get 20 Scrolls, which will completely fill your berserk immediately when it’s empty and not in use.
-If your party member has already completed the Ivy 2 quest, he/she can teleport with you to fight Captain Ivy.
-If you die while fighting Ivy, you can still complete the quest if your party member(s) kill Ivy.

Level 20 Job Change in Fiesta

keywords:

Introduction
when you are level 20 you can do your job change quest. The difficulty level is actually different depending on your class. Being a mage, I have failed the quest three times before succeeding; but as a cleric, I succeeded on my first try without much difficulty at all; if you want to save your time and silver to get through this in the first go, then read this guide. Some might have found it easy, but it was fairly difficult for me because I had no idea what I was supposed to be expecting. It would be better if you start the quest knowing what to expect.

Before You Begin
Make sure you have the following:

Lots of HP/SP stones and potions. You will need it throughout the quest (mainly for the last part - keep in mind you cannot rest in your mini house in the Dungeon of Shadows).
Scrolls (I have used vitality, power and defense scroll). You will need this for the last part.
Elderine/Roumen scrolls if you don’t want to walk all the time.
Also, if you have a computer that likes to stuff up or lag every now and then, I suggest you to restart your game/computer/whatever just as a safety measure. Not sure if that would help, but it doesn’t hurt to do it anyway, right?

The Easy Part

Quest NPCs Each class will have to meet their own NPC and complete different missions before going to the Dungeon of Shadows.

Mages — Enchanter Master Wishis.
Archers — Scout Master Deikid.
Clerics — Paladin Master Keast.
Fighters — Warrior Master Marty.

Locations in Elderine

Mages
After you have spoken to Enchanter Master Wishis, she will tell you to fight 10 boars. It’s too easy. I assume you know where boars are by now (if you don’t… they can be found at the centre of Forest of Mist near Ratmen). When you’re done, return to Wishis and she’ll tell you to go see Grand Master Sean.

Archers
After you have spoken to Scout Master Deikid, he will tell you to kill 10 slimes. After you have killed them, return to him and he’ll direct you to Grand Master Sean.

Clerics
After you have spoken to Paladin Master Keast, she will tell you to hand in one SP Potion (tier 1) to her. When that’s done, you’ll be told to find Grand Master Sean.

Fighters
After you have spoken to Warrior Master Marty, he will request you to deliver a letter to Skill Master Ruby in Roumen. When you have delivered the quest item to Ruby, she tells you that Marty has drinking problems and asks you to deliver her response back to Marty. After that, Marty tells you he can’t teach you anything so he tells you to go to and seek Grand Master Sean instead.

Grand Master Sean can be found in Forest of Mist:

Note to all classes: Before you go ahead to find him, make sure you have stocked up all your HP/SP stones and potions, and your scrolls. The hard part comes next and you will save some time if you fetch your things from your bank now rather than going back and forth.
The Hard Part
Grand Master Sean will tell you to fetch him the shadow key to get into the Dungeon of Shadow. You can kill any monster in the Forest of Mist to get the key (the key is an actual drop). I’ve got mine from a Ratman, but I’m certain that you can get it from any mob. When you give him the key, he will let you into the Dungeon of shadow.

Avoiding and Preventing Scams in RuneScape 2

keywords:

In RS2 there are many deceitful players and malicious scams they will use on you. This guide has been written to help you avoid common scams and complicated scams alike.

Scams
Item/Stat Improvement Scams
Armor Trimming
It is impossible for a member to trim your armor. Trimmed armor comes from Treasure Trails, a minigame for members only. If someone says “free armor trimming,” it’s a scam and you should report them.
Gem Cutting
If someone says “free gem cutting,” it is not guaranteed to be a scam. Sometimes members will be doing this just to be nice, but sometimes, it is malicious. The gem cutter could run off with your gems. Be cautious when letting other people do this for you.

Note: Now that Jagex have released the Assist System, there is no need to trade your gems to somebody in order to have them cut; they can simply lend you their skill using the new system. If they demand you hand the gems over to cut them, it is almost certainly a scam.
Stat Upgrades
“Give me your password and I will upgrade all of your stats to 99!” No, they won’t. They will take your account. It is impossible for your stats to be upgraded, you can only train them genuinely.
Trade Scams
Trust Test
A member will tell you that to gain their trust (and get in their clan, get another free item, etc.), you must give them an item to “let them hold.” If someone says “give me your weapon and I’ll give it back, just to be sure you trust me,” report them and say “no.”
Team Scam
Member 1 will stand in a bank, selling an inexpensive item (we’ll use a red bead for this example). He will say “selling red bead, 1mil!” His friend, Member 2, right up the street, will be buying a red bead for 2mil. Easy cash making opportunity. Buy from Member 1 and sell to Member 2 right up the street? Wrong. As soon as you buy the bead from member 1, he and his friend will log out.. leaving you with a red bead, an item worth 2gp. This scam is done with items and cash alike, not only red beads. Just be cautious and try to be aware of how much the item you’re buying is really worth.
Fast Switching
Some “skilled” members can switch out an expensive item with an inexpensive one so fast that you don’t even notice it. Common items used for this are rune/iron swords, dragon platelegs/red dragonhide legs, etc. Always check the second trade screen before hitting that final “accept” button or you could regret it!
Expensive, Unknown items
This scam mainly occurs in f2p. Scammers, usually RuneScape2 members, will buy items from members quests, or otherwise useless items that are tradable in f2p, and try to sell them at ridiculously high prices. This includes items like charcoal. Spinach Rolls which are available in f2p by random events, but also an uncommon item, may also be sold at insanely high prices. They are worthless and don’t even heal a lot of damage. Be careful as to the value of what you’re buying.
German Servers
Beware of any traders that demand you come to worlds 139 or 140 (the German worlds), because unless you have a very keen eye or know the German language, you can’t be sure if you’re receiving what the trader says you are. For example, logs all look very similar, and a scammer may try to give you a less-valuable but similar-looking kind of log, and if you accept the trade with them, you’ll only realize when you get back to an English world; by which time it’s far too late. Genuine traders should always trade on English worlds.
Password Scams
Your Password Is Blocked!
This used to be a huge scam as passwords would type in their passwords to see if it’s blocked, then the scammer can get away with your account. Jagex decided to play along with the scammers and started blocking your passwords (seriously). However don’t fall for any variation scams like “type your password with a 1 in the middle of it!” or anything like that. You shouldn’t ever be typing your password anywhere in game.
I’m A Jagex Employee…
If someone contacts you in or out of game, claiming to be a Jagex employee, they’re not. People who claim this will ask for your password with a stupid reason that they need to get on your account. Do not believe people who say this, just report and ignore them. Jagex will only contact you through the official Message Centre, or you can spot them in-game by their gold crown.
You’ve won a prize/free item!
If anyone says you have won a prize or free item, that’s great, but they don’t need your password in order to give it to you. If the item is tradable then they can use the proper in-game trading system. If it can’t be traded, there is no way to transfer it over. But be wary of these free items, if they’ve been collected illegally then you could get in trouble for being in possession of them!
In short, don’t give anyone, and I mean anyone, your password. The only people who would need to do something to your account are Jagex Mods, and they can do it without your password. Anyone who asks for your password should be reported immediately.
Other Scams
Wilderness
If you’re following someone, ensure they do not lead you to the wilderness and kill you. This happens to new members on countless occasions; make sure you’re not one of them!
Zamorak Monks/Tribesmen
If someone tells you to take wine from the Zamorak Monks west of Goblin Village, don’t do it! All of the monks will attack you. Also, do not attack the tribesmen near Shilo Village. They poison you, which hits 10 each time. There are other monsters that do damage like this as well, so be wary.
Malicious Programs
Keyloggers
When you add RuneScape 2 players to your MSN, watch out for files and links they send you. Any of them (even if it’s an image file) could be a key logger - a program that records your keystrokes and sends them back to the person who sent them to you. It’s a scammer’s ticket to your account.
Macro Programs
Avoid downloading auto-miners, auto-typers, auto-fishers, and anything of the like. 99% of them are keyloggers which are mentioned above, and even if you do find one that works, you’ll simply be banned permanently. Play the right way, don’t go looking to cheat.
RuneScape-Related External Links
Be wary about anything you click regarding RuneScape. This includes links found on Neoseeker and anywhere else that you frequent. People are out to key log you and will go to great measures to do this. Mainly watch out for things that require a download such as a world switcher, and be sure you know what you’re getting into by clicking something.

Furthermore, in the game some people will offer you power leveling with a surprising low price, and that must be a scam. If you give them your account password, then you will find your account stolen. But we won’t do this. We will provide you safe and satisfying service.?

By the way, if you want to enjoy your game without the boring process of farming and finishing quests, www.ogpal.com will help you get rid of them. Our customer service will make sure you are more than satisfied with every purchase!

On Dueling in the Lord of the Rings Online

keywords:

Player versus Player (PvP) has taken some very interesting turns in Turbine’s upcoming blockbuster, the Lord of the Rings Online(lotro): Shadows of Angmar. At first, the mechanic was deemed inappropriate for the project and so it was scrapped. Then time passed and to the surprise of many, PvP was revisited to what is known as Monster Play – a mechanic that allows players to temporarily control the forces of the Dark Lord Sauron to fight against other players in an instanced setting. Many felt this was a fair and lore appropriate compromise to appease those who desired the playstyle. Though last week another chapter in the PvP epic unfolded: dueling is presently available in the beta test.
The inclusion of this mechanic is very interesting when one compares current to past statements. The reason open or free for all PvP was excluded is because it would violate the lore of Tolkien’s world. For those who aren’t aware, Tolkien Enterprises works very closely with Turbine and as such the lore must not be violated in dramatic ways. Then came Monster Play, and, as I already stated, is a mechanic that adheres to the lore. But dueling? Does this PvP mechanic adhere to the lore? This is doubtable but a far more interesting question must be asked: does this signal a change in philosophy?
To start, some readers may be pondering the details of this often-talked about mechanic that was announced last week. In a nut shell, this is what dueling entails: players can initiate a duel with another player and they will fight each other until one is defeated. This is not to the death mind you – as that would be against the lore incredibly – but a player is just defeated. There is no reward or penalty for either combatant as it is for fun. On the same token, there is no restrictions on where players can duel.
Described above is the basic construct of dueling that is found in any number of MMORPGs (Massively Multiplayer Online Role Playing Games). In fact, it’s more or less copied from successful titles like EverQuest II and World of Warcraft. Taking the example of World of Warcraft for a moment, the only difference between the two mechanics is that dueling is not permitted inside major cities. Though besides that they are virtually identical. But the mention of locales where dueling is permitted is the primary objection I have to the mechanic, at least as far as lore appropriateness is concerned.
Currently you can duel anywhere you want in the beta test. Though the developers have stated that there will be restrictions but a relevant question must be asked: how stringent will they be? Will they be similar to those found in World of Warcraft where you can only duel outside of major cities? In Middle-earth context, does that mean players can duel outside of the Shire on the Great East Road? Is that lore-appropiate? I would say no. It is paramount, I think, that dueling is taken out of the visual equation to maintain the lore of the world. This is done through instanced training halls.
These training halls could be akin to military training facilities in a modern context - perhaps an arena for those familiar with the fantasy genre. In other words, a closed off locale where players can fight, find opponents and watch. It is completely out of the eyes of everyone else that doesn’t want to see them. More importantly, however, it eliminates the visual sight of the free peoples fighting each other on the major roads in the world - this is of quintessential importance to maintain the lore. In my opinion, this is what Turbine needs to institute in the beta test to make dueling lore appropiate – certainly the paramount consideration here. I don’t see any other way for this to be done either, but I’m certainly open to ideas. That said, however, there is another matter which concerns me deeply – a change in philosophy.
What do I mean by this term, however? Simply put, each MMORPG that is released has an over-bearing philosophy that dictates how the game is formed and operates. Let us take World of Warcraft for example: it encompasses an emphasis on PvP, casual solo & group play and offers a hardcore PvE (player versus environment) end game. So their philosophy is casual and hardcore PvP & PvE. Just to be safe, let us take the example of EverQuest II. That title offers, for the most part, forced group play and has a significant emphasis on PvE (especially in the end game). The philosophy of that game is hardcore PvE. For the sake of the present argument, let us define the Lord of the Rings Online’s over bearing philosophy: casual solo and group PvE play, strong social systems and slight PvP. Of course this is a rough sketch based on current information but it will suffice. The point I want to emphasize, however, is the slight PvP. Certainly it won’t be the focus of the title but it will be there. In fact it’s only there because players demand it but it will remain slight. Or is that too optimistic of a look?
If, in fact, Turbine does not take my suggestion and create instanced areas for dueling and, instead, keeps it the way it currently is - or only slight restrictions -, we may see a change in the very philosophy I just mentioned. That change, quite simply, is slight PvP to moderate or heavy. The reason why open or free for all PvP was initially excluded is because it is not lore appropiate. Certainly, then, dueling in locations such as the Great East Road (which is theoretically possible) is not either? Yet it’s permissible and open PvP is not? In other words, it sets a dangerous precedence. If we’re permitted to duel on the Great East Road the next step might be free for all instances – Dwarfs, Elves, Hobbits and Men fighting each other for bragging rights. It’s certainly lore breaking, but not more then Hobbits dueling on the Great East Road! It simply creates a bad example; when exceptions become common they turn into rules - for the integrity of Tolkien’s world, we do not want that.
Dueling, then, while it may be a worthwhile addition – advocates of PvP may certainly Basque in it – does present two problems that need to be addressed immediately. The first is the locales of dueling – it must be restricted! If it is not, then there will be blatant lore violations that spit on the work that Tolkien wrote so many years ago. Accordingly, if these restrictions are not in place then it may be the start of a chain of events that results in open PvP. That is something, I think, none of us wants.

A few basics, but essential needs in Cabal Online!

keywords:

Classes
Classes in Cabal are quite simple, this is a little overview and the choices that can be taken.

Warrior = raw power , depends only on power and defence . Stat Choices = Pure Strength (rarely Pure Dexterity)

Blader = depends a lot on their critical hits. Stat Choices = Pure Strength(wearing warrior armour and blades) or Pure Dexterity(the natural build for Blader)

Force Archer = is one of the most agile classes in cabal, a perfect support class with many buffs, and a good damage output. Stat Choices = Pure Dexterity

Wizard = known as the God of PvP(player v player) , they have amazing damage output. Stat Choices = Pure Intelligence

Force Blader = the master of debuff’s , force bladers have terrifying debuffs that make them truly deadly. Stat Choices = Pure Dexterity (rarely Pure Strength)

Force Shielder = the critical God, if he/she crits, the game is over, their attack power may be low, but the def makes up for it. Stat Choices = Pure Strength (sword skills)
Pure Dexterity(sword skills/magic skills) Pure Intelligence(magic skills)

PVP
So your wondering, how do I duel someone, I want to show my strength! , well this is how, be aware that you cannot duel in cities, unless its a Guild v Guild war.
For the PvP, you must be out of the city, and have your opponent close to you, now what you do is you click on them, look at the
top , where it says their name, click menu, then click “request a PVP”. Simple! , now you can start dueling that person once he accepts the request!

Before dueling, please be aware that the duel starts the same second they click accept, so have your buffs before
asking or accepting a duel request!

Skill Grinding
Some people call Skill Grinders (noobs), well the reason behind that is, because they own them, that’s all you can say. Skill Grinders begin skilling at a very low level
normally around about 40-45, when they can equip their aramid/shadowsteel etc.

this is how they do it:

our example will be a force shielder , level 50 , who wants some nice ranks.

start with getting yourself a good set of adept equipment , I suggest something like the following

necklace = amulet adept (for your level)
rings = 2 rings of adept (for your level)
adept helmet = +3 skill exp / +4 skill exp
adept suit = +3 skill exp / +4 skill exp
adept boots = +3 skill exp / +4 skill exp
adept gloves = +3 skill exp / +4 skill exp
adept sword = +3 skill exp / +4 skill exp
adept crystal/orb = +3 skill exp / +4 skill exp

once you hit level 70, you can start wearing bracelets that give skill exp as well , you can also buy a epaulet that gives a bit extra skill exp, from premium shop, I don’t recommend it, not much skill exp. if your a rich person, you can buy blessing beads that give you +25% skill exp for 1 day.

So now you have your equipment, we have to start skilling.
I suggest you use Arrow Magic:

level 9 ALWAYS (for fast cast and cool)

you might be saying now, arrow magic, but I want to train my sword!! , well you can, if you go to the port lux instructor when your level 50+, you can get a skill called
(Force Change) Sword to Magic, or Magic to Sword (please be aware you need to be A.expert to acquire this skill).

so now your magic skills will be giving exp to you sword rank , because of the force exchange we did (force change magic to sword), great! , we can start skilling, I suggest
getting 2-3 arrow magic skills, with the fastest cool down, because then you can keep the combo going + have good casting speed. Combo is essential for fast skilling!

Cezar’s mini monster skilling list

level 40-60 Wriggleafs
level 61-80 stone golems
level 81-100++ mechzards
(sorry for such a small list, I made most of my ranks between 40-60 , so I never really needed to go to stone golems and mechie’s but they are great skilling monsters)!

Do not get pushed into buying titanium+ adept!!! This is a big mistake, people think because titanium is more expensive and has higher defense, that it will make you skill up faster, the answer is, NO, it doesn’t, its just higher defense, wooptydoo, not worth it, I ‘ve never use anything else except shadowsteel and aramid +4 skill exp, because I simply don’t need it!

For Premium Users Only

On dummies, you can gain your first 30% of your rank on them , this is an example : 0/100, now you want to make sure first 30%, so you leave it skilling while afk , well you are there, so leave it auto skilling on the dummies, you wake up , then you will probably have 30/100, depending on your rank of course, but if another person comes with 37/100, he won’t get any skill points on the dummies, its only the FIRST 30%
that gives the skill exp

Crafting
Once you complete a certain quest , at around about level 50, you get asked what do you want to be a crafter of, these are the choices :

Artifact(jewelry ,orbs ,crystals)
sword(GS ,Dai-Katana ,blade ,katana)
martial(martial helmet ,martial suit ,martial boots ,martial gloves)
battle(battle helmet ,battle suit ,battle boots, battle gloves)
armour (armour helmet ,armour suit ,armour boots ,armour gloves)

Attention: crafting cost a lot of ALz!! I suggest you don’t do this until you are over Level 100. However, most of the powerful items are gained by crafting or farming or using your ALz to buy it.

So how do you progress up the rankings, and what do the items do?
The most efficient way to move up the ranking is to farm Honor Points in the PvP Battlegrounds. Warsong Gulch is no doubt the best way to do this. Remember diminishing returns apply to battlegrounds as well, that is the first kill will be worth 100% of the targets HP value, the 2nd time you kill the same person the kill is worth 75% of its HP value and so on all the way to 5th kill and beyond being worth no HPs.
Therefore if you play 3-4 Warsong Gulches in a row against the same players its actually not a good way to get Honor points due to the fact that most the kills you will be getting wont be earning you any honor. It takes 24 hours before the server considers the target to be a fresh target again.
The amount of time it will take to move up the ranks varies from server to server. There are no set hard and fast rules. Unlike for example experience which has pre determined levels – for example going from level 1 to level 2 requires 400 experience points. The honor system ranks you on how everyone else is doing.
Therefore on a hardcore server you may have to fight for weeks in battlegrounds just to get your first rank while on another server you might be entitled to your first rank after only 25 kills, and might go up 2 or 3 ranks in your first week.
Keep in mind that every week you need a minimum of 25 kills to get a PvP ranking. If you get less than 25 kills you will not be ranked for the week and will in fact loose rank. So to progress in the world you will need to compete in battlegrounds on a frequent basis and get 25+ HKs per week.
The first ranks are easy to obtain then it gets progressively harder as there can only be a few at the top, its almost like giant pyramid with the majority of the players around ranks 1-6.
Rewards
Rank 1 – Tabard – Nothing too exciting here just a stock standard blue tabard.
Rank 2 – Trinket – This is an exceptional item it has a slightly different use for each class, for a priest it allows you to automatically break a mages polymorph, a rogues stun and a priests fear. This is one of the more useful trinkets in the game.
Rank 3 – Cloak – This is a blue quality cloak which suits your class. It is a fairly decent low level cape.
Rank 4 – 10 – Here you can start collecting the Rank I PvP combat set. These sets greatly enhance your PvP experience by granting you impressive stats and a set bonus. At rank 6 you also gain access to the officer barracks (located in Ogrimmer for the horde and at Stormwind for the alliance).
Rank 9 grants you the use of a battle standard this can be placed in combat and grants all allies 15% more HP for 2 minutes. Be sure to protect it as it can be taken out in combat (like a Shamens Totem) (It has 1500 HP)
Ranks 11-13 allow you to work towards your classes epic set items. Rank 11 grants you an epic mount and ranks 12-13 grant you access to your epic armour.
And finally Rank 14 Grants you access to your Priests epic weapon, for Horde – High Warlord Staff and for Alliance- Grand Marshal.
